Malaysia Business Visa

Malaysia Business Visa

In order to travel to Malaysia for business, obtaining a visa from a Malaysian embassy or consulate in person was previously necessary.

However, In March 2017, Malaysia launched two types of electronic visas, the Malaysia eVisa for citizens of several eligible countries and the eNTRI for Chinese and Indian passport holders, which allow foreign visitors to obtain travel authorization online.

Implementing these two types of visas for Malaysia was primarily to facilitate obtaining a tourist visa for the country. However, those planning to conduct business in Malaysia can do so by traveling with an approved tourist eVisa.

What Is a Business Visa for Malaysia?

An authorized Malaysia business visa enables the holder to travel to and gain entry to the country. The Malaysian Business Visa is for business-related activities such as attending meetings and seminars, signing contracts, and finalizing deals.

Currently, there is no dedicated online application for a Malaysian business visa. However, those who wish to travel to Malaysia for business purposes that do not involve paid employment can do so with one of the online Malaysia tourist visas.

An online tourist visa for Malaysia can be obtained through a simple online application and may be issued as one of the following single entry or multiple entry electronic visas.

A 30-day single-entry eVisa

A 30-day multiple-entry eVisa

An eNTRI visa for a stay up to 15 days (Chinese and Indian nationals only)

Although it is currently necessary to apply for an online tourist visa to travel to Malaysia for business, the Malaysian government is planning to launch a new eVisa for business purposes in the technology sector, the Blockchain visa, soon.

Documents Mandated for a Malaysia Business Visa Application

In order to submit a business visa application online, applicants must meet the requirements for a Malaysia visa and supply the following documents when completing the form:

A valid passport from an eligible country valid for at least six months from the arrival date in Malaysia, containing at least three blank pages.

Three copies of a passport-sized photograph that meet the eVisa photo requirements.

Bank statements from the previous three months show proof of financial means to cover the stay.

Confirmed return flight tickets with flight details.

In addition to supplying these documents, it is necessary to submit a completed Malaysia business visa application. You can complete the simple online form with essential personal, passport, and travel information in just a few moments.

It is also critical to answer a few questions related to health and security and pay the business visa fee using a valid debit or credit card to apply.

The applicant must also supply a current email address to send you a copy of the approved Malaysia business eVisa. The requirement is for you to print a copy to carry with them when traveling to Malaysia.

Upon arrival in Malaysia, the holder of a business eVisa is required to show the documents listed below to a border official to gain entry to the country:

The same passport used to complete the Malaysia visa application

A color printout of the approved business eVisa

Proof of sufficient reserves to cover the stay

Boarding pass and confirmed return flight tickets

A travel itinerary for the stay

Proof of accommodation in Malaysia

It is essential to utilize the same passport to enter Malaysia as that used to complete the application because an approved eVisa is linked to that specific passport.

If the e-Visa-linked passport expires during the validity of the online visa, it will be necessary to submit a new online form to continue to travel to Malaysia.
